Cabane De Zucca

A Zucca tee that i bought during my stay in HongKong. I kinda like this print alot and have yet to wear it. Interesting enought the gold print is actually a bee. Hahah, very Dior insipired?

Undercover x Trash: homage to Jan Svankmajer

Such a beautiful work. I love it and i mean it.
This tribute to Mr. Jan Švankmajer. Jan Svankmajer was born 4 September 1934 in Prague and is a Czech surrealist artist. His work consist of several media. He is better known for his surreal animations and features in which later on inspired many well known artist, the likes of Tim Burton, The Brothers Quay as well as Terry Gilliam. He is more often good at creating and using stop motion. This artist is one to respect especially when it comes to use of food as a medium for his movies.

Quite a considerable amount of the movies by him includes the use of seeing the world through a minor's perspective. One example of his movie is the short film "Down to the Cellar".

FW/07 Undercover Mens

I have always been a UC fan. No duobt about it, im so in love this time for his 07/08 collection altough there isnt much publicity in terms of fashion runway shows for the mens collection at all. i still love the way he subtlely and professionaly depict the wicked humour. i see the way he inject such elements as rather interesting and captivating in the viewer end as when his garments merge in one, the entire show looked very fascinating. some amateurs say it looked like clown models in costume party. but hey, if your there for a show, your there for a performance. i thnk Jun deserves all the respect espcially in terms of his forte on the usage of contructionism in fabrics and garment wear. his talent in this is remarkable, if not undeniable.

this piece of garment im featuring here is the FW/07 collection. the pants is indeed very comfortable and yet body hugging whereby the fabric stretches only alittle to suit your contours. the usage of his trademark elastics and hem make it very beautiful. should i just say "but beautiful v5"? hahha. anyway this jump pants is also available online at SlamJam Store for 344euros:

cheers, yet another masterpiece is born.

JCDecaux

i kinda find this ad from JCDecaux pretty nice. i was beginning to wonder if there would be more of such ambient ads around. it displays the art of having printed media even more dynamic. since people normally tend to pass by ad booths but "waaaa" at such big decals, i think its pretty much a good idea to implement such ad styles here in singapore.

Boots

hmm... its winter now? i look forward to every year's christsmas and so it is as well this year! anyone in the mood for boots? i have seen nice and sexy people here in beautiful outfits of boots! :) rocking raf simons, ck, hare, dr martens, boemos, swear and redwings. heres a picture i took.

The Dior Homme store. No horse run. hahaha! theres a butler there even to open the door for us! awesome! will visit again soon and i mean it. :P

one of the Dior items i bought. i must say im not really a Dior fan but some items i do like and here is one of them. there are also a full range of the boots, sneakers as well as accessories. the entire shop interior is basically mirrors and playing the songs that were used in their runway shows. well, i was actually looking for their patchwork jeans which i didnt see it so it was really a sad thing for me. in fact, thanks to Alan, i was told Club21 actually stores it and is on sale!!! WHAT?!!!

Agnes B delicies?

wow, im kinda like some idiot who dont even know AgnesB has a chocolate shop! haha. here are some pictures of the nice sweet chocolate shop from Agnes B. cheers.

A long break...

Wassup... damn that was a long break from my blog. now its all dusty and looking at me with anger. i must confess i have been very busy and hadnt been touching my blog. i receive emails from people in my inbox asking me to continue. well, i guess my trip from hongkong has make me a happy man! haha!

well, i did like to say there were really lots of nice food in hongkong as well as clothes. bought some nice items and really happy to know people there. some shops that gave me strong impressions were Cabane de Zucca, Dior Homme, Lane Crawford, Undercover, Twist, Ann Dem, Comme Des Garcons as well as Dizzy. Omg, DIZZY ROCKS!!!!

haha, enough of that, here will be some nice pictures!
Dizzy cut and sewn shirt. one of my favorite:

Nano.Universe - Ground Floor

”秋冬のテーマは[ブリティッツユスクール]。モード,ロツクのエツセソスが漂う,スクールイテムが充魅。。。“
i totally love this grey fabric. the cardigan he is wearing also has an appeal where the centre portion is cut and sewn on with mroe details. in fact it creates a rather strong englishmen impact. dopeness.

Green Label Relaxing

while going through the Oct issue, i chance upon this picture with Remi in Green Label's dress up. im kinda feeling it. the very smoothing feel especially with the strong usage of grey materials. it blends quite nicely with the hi boots hes wearing. overall, the look is impressive. i took notice of the pin on his vest. in fact both the pin and vest is available at zozo as well.

The casual winter matchup...

i kinda fancy this group shoot especially the sweater worn by the model in number 2. where the sweater has a neck level hoodie and a long zip down. it sits firmly on the shoulder of the human where the length is also fascinating. i was also amazed by the nice fitting pants that slots in so nicely on that beautiful pair of military boots. its fantastic. there is also a small writeup of the sweater below this page as well. [Oct Mens Non-No pg.62]

Lad Musician x Tsuyoshi Nimura

"今回のイメージソースはローリング・ストーンズ。3ピースのスーツを初めてかつこよく着たのはストーンズなんだよね。彼らが税金?策で国籍をフランスに移して,ロンドンか..."

this month Men's Non No featured the exclusive Lad Musician. however, this time round Mr. Tsuyoshi has become the stylist for Lad Musician. once again they are using Rafael. there are shoots of him wearing the star monogram pants. i must say this is a very alternative japanese brand. as mentioned in the article, this time round Lad Musician has its imagery and source directed from The Rolling Stones. for price list do refer to www.ladmusician.com. alternatively i will post up some of the price list here in a while. this thread will be updated once i gather enough time to edit again.

more info will come up soon. stay tune.

Hare

hare has got some new items released lately. i wont say its very new, but probably a month or less ago. theres the new flower pin in gold. if you remember the past they used to have another black one which has more metal linings. equally i love both. i also purchased the key chain necklace with a leather strap. its just two simple items to bring me around these days during casual weekdays for window shopping. i wonder what nicer items one could get in hongkong as well. i cant wait for my hongkong trip!

Black is a beauty

flying to hongkong soon in a month's time, i decide to get a small travel bag and chance upon Agnes.B's voyage collection while doing my trips around town. i must say this bag suits all my criteria. it has got lots of nice compartments. in fact while carrying it sideways on my shoulders there is an extra compartment on the side to slot in my key pouch. magnificent. it also has lots of side pockets for our conveinence.

i love this and really im no artist, but i like the way the bag brings out the colors of who it is with. the beauty of black where it always makes itself the side cast by bringing the item next to it the centre of attraction. thats black. a beauty isnt it. hope my decoration for this bag isnt that bad!

"hey, i really love the smell of a new item. i wonder what its like to be to have one everyday!"
vague ^__^

Men's Non-No Oct

i simply love this hare tee. i mean i dunno what's with my love for grey these days. simply appreciate the way the photo was blended in with the grey fabric. as i always say "Grey fabrics always excites me". this is one of hare's recent release of tee. a stripe long tee with photo, their recurring line is also released. do check out zozo.jp for pictures.

and yeah, the Oct issue of Men's Non-No is out. inside this issue there is a lot of inside catalogues and photoshoot of big brands once again. there is also preview of other local and uprising labels. this time round i see more shots of brands like Alfredo Bannister, Milok, SOE, American Rag Cie x Fred Perry, Mr. Olive, Public Image, M of M, Pledge, Attachment, Lounge Lizards as well as Nonnative. also there is a 2full page spread for each of the 3 labels, Lad Musician, Miharayashuhiro and Marka. Finally, there is also some touchups on John Lawerence Sullivans.

there are more then what i have mention, so really buy this issue of Men's Non-No. its really comprehensive. cheers.

Cabane de Zucca

due to the increasing demand for semi formal apparels and their casual yet classy styles, it attracted a large crowd of fashionistas to go for shirts. i have always love shirts and Zucca recently came out with their Neck Tie shirt. it involved the combination of a neck tie where the shirt is connected to the tie. it is then tighen with the neck. an innovative approach or rather a small gimmick adopted. Mihara also did similar style for shirt collars but the neck tie innovation proved rather fascinating.

Neck Tie Shirt: 2199hkd
Plain Shirts: 1399hkd
Print Tees: 699hkd

brand history:
- there has always been a strong attachment on the creation of both garments and the human. in fact, it has always been a dream to create something that seem more necessary for the other party just like how grass is grown from soil. an attachment of both matter but one that is done for a purpose - which in this case is for the human.

Agnes.B

this agnes.b bow simply caught my eye. as i was pretty attentive to all the stuffs agnes.b always produced, it just simply couldnt make me save up any more. instantly i bought it. the material was amazing. it is silky and classy in my opinion. there is a metal buckle as well as metal plate where we can adjust its length. simply elegant.

Beautiful Men: Beautiful shoes

i have always been wondering what makes a really elegant man, or rather i sometimes question the ability of men to dare themself to dress beautifully. have it even come across men, to realise it is sometimes more interesting to do something different or bolder, that raises a difference in your sedate life on earth? to most, being a men with a nice figure and loads of muscle is the ideal physique and a combination of really nice yet cheap clothes makes their day. such shallow mindset should change.

this is a past issue of Mens Non-No where Ash is featured wearing April77's jeans. its the shoes that makes me really like this shoot. it brings out the elegance in men. in fact i wouldnt say this is something new, but wearing something like this makes it really interesting in our current fashion context.

A/W 2007 Attachment

the schedule fashion show for attachment in the Paris 2008 Printemps - ete is:
ATTACHMENT
07 june 28th 3:00pm

the fashion show was reported to have been late by 40 over minutes and attitude was pretty much sophisticated. there were also fans who supported cult label, ROEN, seen outside the entrance of fashion venue. i am very amazed at the show's usage of dull and very simple colors. the highlight seem to be the beautiful dark green. the way the garment wraps the human, its fantastically detailed apparels truly stands out on its own. beautiful model, beautiful garments, beautiful concept.

more reports on Attachment coming soon...

A/W 2007 Ann Demeulemeester

i actually got to admit that some of Ann Dem's item is really very fascinating. this time round i was pretty much captivated by her use of leather as well as her playing around with the use of black and white on her apparels. after a few seasons of her usage of gothic punk approaches, this upcoming collection emphasizes the 20th century english writer Virginia Woolf as a driving design concept. keeping the feel of fashion based on Patti Smith's shadow, black and white, fur and texture, military and contemporary arts, are all being felt. a never ending endurance can sometimes be one of the ways to convince and win over fashionista's hearts.

Tim Blanks from men.style.com mentioned about Ann Dem getting her insipirations from Marcel Duchamp. powered by the dadaism period and revolving her designs with the man himself. she vividly imagined alot. Blanks also mentioned she cryptically described her sleeveless shirts as "a remembrance of writers". very interesting isnt it, Ann Demeulemeester.

"Love God Murder" - Number (N)ine

[sept's Mens Non-No]
"ヅヨニー・キヤシユに想いをはせたコレクシヨソの後偏にあたる今秋冬。"
Model: Raphael Lima | Stylist: Tsuyoshi Noguchi

Number (N)ine's current line has been released with the theme "Love God Murder". this photoshoot had one of the pioneer model from Mens Non-No, Raphael Lima to model for it. the entire look and feel gave a very gloomy touch i would say. those high boots that was worn by raphael looks absolutely hot. altough i must say this is really just for winter, it is stunning enough.

this new collection also feature accessories which Number (N)ine had collaboarations with. E.g: Magical Design. apparently this season's main highlights on the apparels were strongly driven by darker colors as expected of Takahiro Miyashita. the accessories that was being featured mainly focus on the use of a very big cross neckalace. (more pictures will be up).

all in all Number (N)ine still retain producing shawls or neck warmers as part of their trademark featured items for men.

'The Man' Dior Homme

"庄到的な存在感でモードを牽引してきたエディスリマンによるディオールオムのラストコレクツヨンを木村拓哉が着こなす。"
Fashion Direction: Tomoki Suzezane | Photos: Junji Hata | Hair & Make-up: Tomita Sato

yeah, our good friend Kimura has once again been appointed to do another hit label. modelling for Dior in the sept issue of Mens Non-No, he was featured in a some bad ass jackets and coats. seemingly surprising, he has also changed his usual hairstyle to another vibe. it seem more straight now isnt it?

yeah heres another shot of the inside photoshoots. all the images as well as the spreads are all in black and white. very nice match up by Tomoki Sukezane's art direction. acting sexy huh kimura?

HARE

i must say this fake print tee is done beautifully. kind of think it resembles some print i saw before. suddenly i realise a graphic collective in singapore also known as Phunk Studio once did some really nice print as well and the way they had it print is quite similar to this HARE tee. seems like artist insipired one another eh? nonetheless, this tee is the hot peice of this coming release? as it seem to be always out of stock.

Cabane de Zucca

[sept Mens Non-No]
left model: patricio | stylist: tsuyoshi noguchi
cardigan: 26250yen
shirt: 26250yen
pants: 30450yen
belt: 13650yen
boots: 89250yen

"カーディガンのインに,ネクタイ付きシャシ。" - the v-neck cardigan is well matched with aesthetically beautiful neck tie.

this is defintely one hell of an awesome match up. love the nice bow tie pointing downwards. the nice black on black matchup with a nice pair of brown boots. i always love Zucca's item. i mean they really devote themselves in the creation of goods based on a different theme and approach. come to think about it, isnt it time that singapore start to have a botique?

not only does Zucca produce excellent apparels, they are apparently also very proficient in their accessories as well. if i did not remember wrongly, there should be a Cabane de Zucca in hongkong. :) NICE.

Burberry Black Label

[sept Mens Non-No]
left photoshoot:
model: Guil | stylist: Masanori Wada
knit sweater: 18900yen
pants: 16800yen
shoes: 44100yen

i developed a rather mild love for the black sweater that was worn by Guil in this september's Men's Non-No on his day 5 [in a Room] photoshoot. the way he was covered with a pin roll up jeans, matching a pair of really kickass shiny boots, make him one hell of a hot make over.

"ひじや肩のパッチ使いがアクセントのネイビーのニットはユニフォーム的で,ストイックな印象。" - a short description extract from the image, explaining the details of the navy sweater. it mentions the elbow sewn patch as well as the shoulder amulet that resembles a certain style of a uniform. impressive is the word for me.

here is a small collection of the current featured items from Black Label. i must say the v-neck at the centre really got the english feel. the black white and red combination of belt is also equally stunning. lastly the white pants looks very hot as well.

v-neck stripe sweater:
"パブリックスクール風の着こなしにハマリそうな,ボーニット." - i would say it resembles a school uniform kind of vibe.

1. blazer - 44100yen
2. belts - 17850yen
3. dress shirt - 18900yen
4. v-neck stripe sweater - 18900yen
5. checkered button shirt - 19950yen
6. shoes - 12600yen
7. white bottoms - 15750yen

Mens Non-No sept

september issue of Mens Non-No hit the racks a week ago. i must admit i was so unamazed by the cover of the magazine for this september issue. well, what i was looking for wasnt really a surprise for me anyway since Milk magazine has already reported some of their findings of the Paris 2008 Mens Collection ( La Collection Pour Homme).

inside this month's Mens Non-No, there are photoshoot of "THE MAN" in dior homme. A 8page black and white photoshoot of Takuya Kimura in complete Dior collection. Featuring him in coat, scarf, biker jacket, leather overalls as well as a really badass splattered blazer.

on top of that, there is also information on Number (N)ine's recent collection following the theme "LOVE GOD MURDER". there is also collections from Burberry Black Label, Cabane de Zucca, Paul Smith, N.Hoolywood and of course, some current creations from local japanese brands like Lad Musician, Nano Universe as well as American Rag Cie. there is also preview of stylist like Keisuke Baba, Kenji Notomo and Noguchi (野口 强).

i will post more reviews of the inside in a while.
