Beautiful Men: Beautiful shoes

i have always been wondering what makes a really elegant man, or rather i sometimes question the ability of men to dare themself to dress beautifully. have it even come across men, to realise it is sometimes more interesting to do something different or bolder, that raises a difference in your sedate life on earth? to most, being a men with a nice figure and loads of muscle is the ideal physique and a combination of really nice yet cheap clothes makes their day. such shallow mindset should change.

this is a past issue of Mens Non-No where Ash is featured wearing April77's jeans. its the shoes that makes me really like this shoot. it brings out the elegance in men. in fact i wouldnt say this is something new, but wearing something like this makes it really interesting in our current fashion context.

A/W 2007 Attachment

the schedule fashion show for attachment in the Paris 2008 Printemps - ete is:
ATTACHMENT
07 june 28th 3:00pm

the fashion show was reported to have been late by 40 over minutes and attitude was pretty much sophisticated. there were also fans who supported cult label, ROEN, seen outside the entrance of fashion venue. i am very amazed at the show's usage of dull and very simple colors. the highlight seem to be the beautiful dark green. the way the garment wraps the human, its fantastically detailed apparels truly stands out on its own. beautiful model, beautiful garments, beautiful concept.

more reports on Attachment coming soon...

A/W 2007 Ann Demeulemeester

i actually got to admit that some of Ann Dem's item is really very fascinating. this time round i was pretty much captivated by her use of leather as well as her playing around with the use of black and white on her apparels. after a few seasons of her usage of gothic punk approaches, this upcoming collection emphasizes the 20th century english writer Virginia Woolf as a driving design concept. keeping the feel of fashion based on Patti Smith's shadow, black and white, fur and texture, military and contemporary arts, are all being felt. a never ending endurance can sometimes be one of the ways to convince and win over fashionista's hearts.

Tim Blanks from men.style.com mentioned about Ann Dem getting her insipirations from Marcel Duchamp. powered by the dadaism period and revolving her designs with the man himself. she vividly imagined alot. Blanks also mentioned she cryptically described her sleeveless shirts as "a remembrance of writers". very interesting isnt it, Ann Demeulemeester.

"Love God Murder" - Number (N)ine

[sept's Mens Non-No]
"ヅヨニー・キヤシユに想いをはせたコレクシヨソの後偏にあたる今秋冬。"
Model: Raphael Lima | Stylist: Tsuyoshi Noguchi

Number (N)ine's current line has been released with the theme "Love God Murder". this photoshoot had one of the pioneer model from Mens Non-No, Raphael Lima to model for it. the entire look and feel gave a very gloomy touch i would say. those high boots that was worn by raphael looks absolutely hot. altough i must say this is really just for winter, it is stunning enough.

this new collection also feature accessories which Number (N)ine had collaboarations with. E.g: Magical Design. apparently this season's main highlights on the apparels were strongly driven by darker colors as expected of Takahiro Miyashita. the accessories that was being featured mainly focus on the use of a very big cross neckalace. (more pictures will be up).

all in all Number (N)ine still retain producing shawls or neck warmers as part of their trademark featured items for men.

'The Man' Dior Homme

"庄到的な存在感でモードを牽引してきたエディスリマンによるディオールオムのラストコレクツヨンを木村拓哉が着こなす。"
Fashion Direction: Tomoki Suzezane | Photos: Junji Hata | Hair & Make-up: Tomita Sato

yeah, our good friend Kimura has once again been appointed to do another hit label. modelling for Dior in the sept issue of Mens Non-No, he was featured in a some bad ass jackets and coats. seemingly surprising, he has also changed his usual hairstyle to another vibe. it seem more straight now isnt it?

yeah heres another shot of the inside photoshoots. all the images as well as the spreads are all in black and white. very nice match up by Tomoki Sukezane's art direction. acting sexy huh kimura?

HARE

i must say this fake print tee is done beautifully. kind of think it resembles some print i saw before. suddenly i realise a graphic collective in singapore also known as Phunk Studio once did some really nice print as well and the way they had it print is quite similar to this HARE tee. seems like artist insipired one another eh? nonetheless, this tee is the hot peice of this coming release? as it seem to be always out of stock.

Cabane de Zucca

[sept Mens Non-No]
left model: patricio | stylist: tsuyoshi noguchi
cardigan: 26250yen
shirt: 26250yen
pants: 30450yen
belt: 13650yen
boots: 89250yen

"カーディガンのインに,ネクタイ付きシャシ。" - the v-neck cardigan is well matched with aesthetically beautiful neck tie.

this is defintely one hell of an awesome match up. love the nice bow tie pointing downwards. the nice black on black matchup with a nice pair of brown boots. i always love Zucca's item. i mean they really devote themselves in the creation of goods based on a different theme and approach. come to think about it, isnt it time that singapore start to have a botique?

not only does Zucca produce excellent apparels, they are apparently also very proficient in their accessories as well. if i did not remember wrongly, there should be a Cabane de Zucca in hongkong. :) NICE.

Burberry Black Label

[sept Mens Non-No]
left photoshoot:
model: Guil | stylist: Masanori Wada
knit sweater: 18900yen
pants: 16800yen
shoes: 44100yen

i developed a rather mild love for the black sweater that was worn by Guil in this september's Men's Non-No on his day 5 [in a Room] photoshoot. the way he was covered with a pin roll up jeans, matching a pair of really kickass shiny boots, make him one hell of a hot make over.

"ひじや肩のパッチ使いがアクセントのネイビーのニットはユニフォーム的で,ストイックな印象。" - a short description extract from the image, explaining the details of the navy sweater. it mentions the elbow sewn patch as well as the shoulder amulet that resembles a certain style of a uniform. impressive is the word for me.

here is a small collection of the current featured items from Black Label. i must say the v-neck at the centre really got the english feel. the black white and red combination of belt is also equally stunning. lastly the white pants looks very hot as well.

v-neck stripe sweater:
"パブリックスクール風の着こなしにハマリそうな,ボーニット." - i would say it resembles a school uniform kind of vibe.

1. blazer - 44100yen
2. belts - 17850yen
3. dress shirt - 18900yen
4. v-neck stripe sweater - 18900yen
5. checkered button shirt - 19950yen
6. shoes - 12600yen

Mens Non-No sept

september issue of Mens Non-No hit the racks a week ago. i must admit i was so unamazed by the cover of the magazine for this september issue. well, what i was looking for wasnt really a surprise for me anyway since Milk magazine has already reported some of their findings of the Paris 2008 Mens Collection ( La Collection Pour Homme).

inside this month's Mens Non-No, there are photoshoot of "THE MAN" in dior homme. A 8page black and white photoshoot of Takuya Kimura in complete Dior collection. Featuring him in coat, scarf, biker jacket, leather overalls as well as a really badass splattered blazer.

on top of that, there is also information on Number (N)ine's recent collection following the theme "LOVE GOD MURDER". there is also collections from Burberry Black Label, Cabane de Zucca, Paul Smith, N.Hoolywood and of course, some current creations from local japanese brands like Lad Musician, Nano Universe as well as American Rag Cie. there is also preview of stylist like Keisuke Baba, Kenji Notomo and Noguchi (野口 强).

i will post more reviews of the inside in a while.

Hide & Seek

"i didnt really know what to do with time. so i did what really felt like fun."

i had to admit doing this blog wasnt really just about being impulsive. its purely fun and interest. sometimes you navigate through the streets and you realise the cold night really isnt any interesting. you stroll around looking for objects or people that could raise an interest. make your eyes look at it twice or more. that sort of interest to be honest to you, is fashion for me.

well, i had to relate that i really love observing items that people carry. anything else doesnt fascinate me anymore. how a person really dress up, differentiates him from others. the way you wanna show yourself, it just mean something. when you wear something nice, your life is simply impressive.
